Abstract
A new fossil whipscorpion (Arachnida, Uropygi, Thelyphonida) is described f rom the Lower Cretaceous (Aptian) of the Crate Member of the Santana Format ion, Ceara Province, Brazil. This specimen is the first record of a Mesozoi c thelyphonid, but it is too poorly preserved to be assigned to a family wi th any confidence. It is named Mesoproctus rowlandi new genus and species.
