Abstract
As part of an extensive experimental study of the fluid multiphase equilibr ia of ternary systems containing near critical carbon dioxide, a series of systems of(carbon dioxide + 1-alkanol + tridecane) has been examined. Exper imental results on these ternary systems with 1-octanol, 1-hexanol, and 1-p entanol as the alkanol component are presented and discussed. The critical endpoints of the three-phase (liquid + liquid + vapour) equilibria were det ermined experimentally. A comparison of the results of this study was made with those of previous measurements in ternary mixtures (carbon dioxide + 1 -alkanol + tetradecane), with 1-decanol, 1-octanol, 1-hexanol, and 1-pentan ol as the alkanol.
