Abstract
This paper describes the development of a new scale for the assessment of e pilepsy in people with learning disabilities. The scale was developed and v alidated in consultation with principal carers, and reflects their concerns about seizures, their impact. and their treatment. Further testing of the scale revealed high internal consistency, testretest reliability and a robu st factor structure. The scale can be completed in 5-10 min and may be usef ul as an outcome measure both in clinical practice and in research trials.
