B. Charbonnier et T. Georges, REDUCTION OF DISPERSION IMPAIRMENT OF SOLITON SYSTEMS THROUGH CHIRP CONTROL AT AMPLIFIER LOCATION, Electronics Letters, 33(5), 1997, pp. 406-407
Through the use of dispersive elements to control the pulse chirp. it
is shown that solitons can average even large chromatic dispersion flu
ctuations without creating much continuum. It is shown through numeric
al simulations that 40Gbit/s can be transmitted with 100km amplifier s
pacings over 1600km without sorting fibres.
