Abstract
Strong concentration polarization of an ion-exchange membrane under a mode of overlimiting current for two consecutive pulses with a fixed p otential drop was theoretically investigated. Time dependences of elec trolyte concentration in the Nernst layer, current density, and mass t ransfer through the membrane were analyzed to be dependent on duration of pulse and pause.
