Abstract
Simple shear tests of Fe-30% Al single crystals were performed in order to measure the critical resolved shear stresses (CRSS's) for {110}[111] slip a nd {112}[111] slip independently and without superimposed normal stresses o n the slip planes. The temperature dependence of the CRSS's for slip on {11 0} was found to be similar to that of the CRSS's observed in compression. F or a detailed study of dislocation micromechanics to explain the plastic de formation behavior of Fe-30% Al, discussion is given on the anisotropy of A PE energies and that of the elastic compliance constants referred to the re spective slip planes.
