Abstract
We show theoretically and experimentally that the wavelength tunability of an Er3+-doped fiber laser is improved by using a cavity with two polarizers . A wavelength tuning range of 30 nm around 1.54 mu m is measured, which is twice the value obtained with a one-polarizer cavity in agreement with our modeling. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
