Abstract
We find the inconsistency of dimensional reduction and naive dimensional re gularization in their applications to Chem-Simons-type gauge theories. Furt her we adopt a consistent dimensional regularization to investigate the qua ntum correction to a non-Abelian Chern-Simons term coupled with fermionic m atter. Contrary to previous results, we find that not only does the Chern-S imons coefficient receive a quantum correction from spinor fields, but the spinor field also gets a finite quantum correction.
