Abstract
The Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers membershi p recently voted to adopt a computerized matching program, to be implemente d beginning with the 1998-1999 selection process. This program matches inte rnships and applicants on the basis of their expressed rank-ordered prefere nces and replaces the events that previously occurred on Uniform Notificati on Day. This article summarizes some of the problems and issues inherent in the previous selection process and provides an overview of the new program . Procedural issues, advantages and disadvantages, and the rationale for im plementation are discussed.
