V. Pruneri et Pg. Kazansky, FREQUENCY-DOUBLING OF PICOSECOND PULSES IN PERIODICALLY POLED D-SHAPESILICA FIBER, Electronics Letters, 33(4), 1997, pp. 318-319
D-shape silica fibres have been periodically poled at an elevated temp
erature by applying high voltage via a patterned electrode deposited o
n the plane side. The resulting nonlinear grating of 25 mu m period, u
niform over the whole 1.8cm length, has been used for quasi-phase-matc
hed second harmonic generation. With a mode-locked laser as a fundamen
tal source, blue powers up to similar to 76 mu W have been generated a
t similar to 422nm with an average conversion efficiency of similar to
0.22%.
