A set of binary and ternary ion interaction Fitter parameters is presented
for the calculation of trace activity coefficients for the fission product
ions Cs+ and TcO4- in concentrated salt brines of the quinary system Na-K-M
g-Cl-SO4-H2O at 25 degrees C. Available literature data are selected and un
known mixing parameters for the Cs+ ion are evaluated from solubility data
in ternary and quaternary systems. The applicability of the evaluated param
eters is tested by comparing measured and predicted solubilities of sparing
ly soluble CsTcO4 in concentrated sodium and magnesium solutions of either
chloride or sulfate.
