La beta-Al2O3 solid electrolyte was synthesized directly and its microstruc
ture was determined by XRD and TEM techniques. The conductivity was measure
d via AC impedance spectroscopy. The electronic conductivity of La beta-Al2
O3 solid electrolyte at relatively high temperatures (773 K less than or eq
ual to T less than or equal to 1173 K) was determined with the Wagner polar
ization method. Based on these data, the dependence of the conductivity of
La beta-Al2O3 upon the temperature and the dopant concentration in the elec
trolytes was studied. The electronic transference number was also calculate
