Abstract
Rajashree Cement, a works belonging to the Indian Rayon and Industries Ltd. , brought its 3(rd) cement line on stream in June 1995 as part of an extens ion programme. The new cement line, which was built in the record time of o nly 15 months, has an annual capacity of 1.2 million t clinker One special feature of the new cement line is that it is provided with a two-stage raw grinding plant, which has a grinding circuit with a roller press using the semi-finish grinding system. A characteristic of the first grinding circuit is that the roller press operates in conjunction with a V-separator; which is being used for the first time in an Indian cement works. The article de scribes numerous optimisation measures, changes to the classifiers, and par ticularly successful optimisation of the ball mill, as well as comparative investigations of the grinding plant under conditions of finish- and semi-f inish grinding, The best energy utilization is achieved using the semi-fini sh grinding system.
