Abstract
The X-ray photoemission spectra (XPS) of Gd3CO11B4 is presented. We have fo und a good agreement between the experimental valence band spectra and the calculated density of states convoluted by Lorentzians of half-witdth 0.4 e V. The ab-initio band calculations have shown that the magnetic moments on Co atoms strongly depended on the local environment.
