The TbPdIn and DyPdIn compounds crystallize in the hexagonal ZrNiAl-type st
ructure and exhibit magnetic ordering below T-ord = 66 K and 31 K, respecti
vely. We have studied magnetic ordering in these compounds by powder neutro
n diffraction. The magnetic structure in TbPdIn is a non-collinear k = (0,
0, 0) structure with Tb moments within the basal plane. Two different magne
tic phases are observed in DyPdIn. In the high temperature one, 15 K < T <
Tord, the Dy magnetic moments order ferromagnetically along the c-axis. Bel
ow 15 K, basal-plane components of Dy moments order antiferromagnetically w
ith the propagation vector k = (1/2, 0, 1/2).
