Two dimensional Blume-Capel model for the spin S = 3/2, with anisotropic ex
change coupling J(1),J(2) and crystal field anisotropy D was applied to sim
ulate the specific heat of KEr(MoO4)(2) at helium temperatures. The promisi
ng agreement of the Monte Carlo results with the experimental data was atta
ined for the parameters J(1)/k(B) = 0.378K, J(2)/k(B) = -0.071K and D/k(B)
= 10K.
