J. Pacanowski et J. Zasadzinski, The effect of selected parameters of aluminium extrusion on temperature changes in the die system, ARCH METALL, 43(4), 1998, pp. 389-398
This paper presents research results dealing with the influence of the bill
et and container temperature and of the extrusion ratio on the temperature
in various areas of the material being extruded and in the die system, duri
ng hot extrusion of the aluminium type Al. The extrusion tests were taken i
n the laboratory conditions on a vertical hydraulic single action press of
3 MN capacity. The temperature characteristics for the selected die system
zones were prepared for the four billet temperatures: T-w = 823 K, 773 K, 7
23 K, 673 K as well as for the four container temperatures: T-p = 723 K, 67
3 K, 623 K, 573 K. All these alternative temperatures were applied for the
three extrusion ratios: lambda = 36, 16 and 9. Basing on the temperature ch
aracteristics of the extrusion, the authors elaborated the summary diagrams
presenting the effect of given process parameters on the character of chan
ges and on the temperature of extrusion leaving the die hole during selecte
d stages of the extrusion process.
