The immunocompromised host is subject to a variety of opportunistic infecti
ons. Mycotic infections, including invasive fungal sinusitis, are a dreaded
complication in immune deficient children. Fungal mastoiditis has rarely b
een described in this population. Our experience with 2 cases of fungal mas
toiditis in immunocompromised children is reviewed. Case his tories describ
ing aggressive medical management with and without surgical intervention an
d a review of the literature are presented.
