Abstract
A CMOS circuit for the simultaneous computation of linguistic values a nd the T-norm in fuzzy controllers is proposed. The circuit approximat es a differentiable multiple-input true T-norm: a normalised product o f Gaussian membership functions with adaptive heights. this results in a compact analogue implementation, avoiding the use of an explicit de fuzzifier, in which the circuit complexity of the whole controller doe s not increase with the number of rules.
