This paper describes a new tool for dynamic security assessment of power sy
stems, in which two technologies are combined: the EEAC method and time-dom
ain simulations. Details of the structure and functionalities of the tool a
re discussed. The applications of the tool are illustrated with a realistic
power-system model as an example. The results show that both fast computat
