Abstract
The synthesis of novel derivatives of the Victoria Blue series of dyes cont aining the 3,6-bis(dimethylamino)fluoren-9yl moiety is reported. The conseq uent increased planarity of the system results in a large bathochromic shif t of the x-band compared to the parent compound. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
