Experimental studies of farmland ecological engineering for controlling saltwater intrusion in the Laizhou Bay area of China

In view of the grim situation of drought, water shortage, serious intrusion of saltwater and held yield declines facing the Laizhou Bay area of China, and in accordance with the principles of suiting local conditions and purs uing high efficiency, experimental studies of farmland ecological engineeri ng have been carried out in Laizhou and Shouguang. Remarkable ecological an d economic benefits have been achieved in these areas, serving as an exempl ary model for preventing and dealing with the disaster of saltwater intrusi on and realizing the sustainable development of agriculture.
