Abstract
In this paper, an, active filter module is described. The filter module is used for conditioning line current of a typical static power converter. The proposed module performs two simultaneous duties: it minimizes the supply line current harmonics, generated by the power converter, and compensates t he reactive fundamental component of the line current. The module has a ste p-up converter operated by a Schmitt trigger controller. The performance of the proposed module is tested using the EMTP computer so ftware. Total harmonic distortion (THD) factor for the line current is foun d to tate a 2.23% value when using the proposed active filter module.
