An array of conducting polymer coated microelectrodes was employed as an am
perometric detector to analyze a range of proteins. Using conducting polyme
r coatings with different counterions incorporated, varying selectivity ser
ies have been obtained. Protein identification and quantification were perf
ormed using chemometric techniques such as principal component analysis (PC
A), soft independent modelling of class analogy (SIMCA), ordinary least squ
are (OLS) and partial least square (PLS). Using four different polymers, re
sponse patterns were obtained and classification of six proteins was achiev
ed. Individual proteins in a two component mixture were quantitatively anal
yzed with acceptable accuracy.
