The structure of endo-2,3-homotroponeFe(CO)(3) was established by X-ray ana
lysis. Using the inclusion complex method, enantioresolution of 2,3-homotro
pone was carried out. Starting from this optically active 2,3-homotropone,
optically active endo-1,2-homoheptafulvaleneFe(CO)(3) and endo-1,2-homohept
afulvene Fe(CO)(3) derivatives were prepared for the first time.
