Abstract
Near-surface oxygen chemical diffusion at room temperature in YBa2Cu2O x thin films with a-axis orientation normal to the substrate has been studied using four-probe DC conductivity measurements. The results sho w that under the same experimental conditions the oxygen out-diffusion coefficient is about two orders of magnitude higher in these films co mpared to those with the c-axis normal to the substrate. We also prese nt data on oxygen out-diffusion enhancement in these films under ultra violet (UV) light illumination.
