Abstract
The growth of three Frankia strains (HFPCcI3, ORS021001, ORS020607), isolat ed from nodules of Casuarina, was unaffected by 5-15 mu mol/L quercetin. Re -isolation of Frankia strain HFPCcI3 from Casuarina root nodules was carrie d out with the addition of 15 mu mol/L quercetin to three different media. The flavonoid significantly reduced fungal contaminants in the isolation pl ates and increased the number of Frankia colonies per plate compared to con trols without the flavonoid.
