On feedback stabilization of smooth nonlinear systems

This paper is a contribution to the problem of stabilization of nonlinear s ystems. We present a version of the well-known Jurdjevic-Quinn theorem, con cerning affine systems with dissipative drift, for smooth but not necessari ly analytic systems. An example and counterexample are proposed.
