Abstract
The effect, of external pressure oil the plasma parameters in an ablative c apillary discharge is studied. A comparison between the plasma parameters i n such a situation and those obtained when the pressure outside the capilla ry is negligibly small was performed. The theoretically predicted results f or the electrical characteristics of the discharge were compared to the cor responding experimentally obtained values, anti were found to he in good ag reement.
