Abstract
Passive, fully grouted rock bolts are widely used in rock engineering. Base d on the observations of the laboratory test phenomena, a three-dimensional elasto-viscoplastic constitutive model which takes special attention to th e bolt's behaviour at a joint has been proposed. The model is justified by the laboratory test and is applied to the structure design of the upper gat e bay of the navigation lock in The Three Gorges Project.
