Abstract
The crystal structure of Mo9Fe4.75Al0.25 has been solved by the single- cry stal X-ray analysis (KM-4 diffractometer, Mo K alpha radiation). This compo und crystallises in tetragonal system, space group I4/mcm, a=12.683 Angstro m, c=4.383 Angstrom, Z=4, R=0.038 for 268 unique reflections and 26 variabl es. The structure represents partially disordered Nb9Co4Ge type of structur e. Only 4(a) position is occupied by Fe and Al atoms statistically. (C) 199 9 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
