Abstract
We present a fast and simple method for a general, fluorescent double stain that differentially labels various cellular components and visualizes all cells in confocal laser scanning microscopy. The technique is useful for tw o- and three-dimensional visualization of neural tissue and facilitates qua ntification of a variety of neuroanatomical parameters. Examples from cereb ellum and retina are shown to demonstrate the broad applicability. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
