Abstract
In this work, the solubility of natural and synthetic antioxidants in super critical carbon dioxide is determined by a dynamic method in the pressure r ange 130-250 bar at 308.1-333.1 K. The compounds considered are ascorbic ac id, ascorbyl palmitate, gallic acid, propyl gallate, lauryl gallate, alpha- tocopherol acid succinate and butyl hydroxyl anisole. The experimental data are correlated using the Peng-Robinson equation of state, and the solute p roperties are estimated by group contribution methods. (C) 1999 Elsevier Sc ience B.V.
