Abstract
Conditions for the injection locking of vertical-cavity laser arrays are co nsidered. The injection power required for locking to be achieved depends o n various parameters such as the injected-field distribution and frequency as well as the array geometry and pumping strength. The circulating field d istribution, driven by the injected field, is controlled mainly by the freq uency detuning from the laser resonances as well as by the injected-field d istribution.
