Constrained geometry catalyst technology (CGCT), the use of a specific form
of metallocene catalyst in an improved solution process is now being used
for the commercial production of two families of ethylene elastomer.
This paper looks at these two families of elastomer, first to see why an es
tablished polymer would benefit from the change of manufacturing technology
and secondly to see how these two ethylene polymer types made with this sa
me technology compare as a consequence of their different molecular structu
