Operational tests of hydraulic-hose assemblies from the safety-technical point of view

Hydraulic hose assemblies count among the safety-related components. Consid erations relating to these components must be based on requirements as spec ified in the applying standards. In this context, impulse testing in accord ance with DIN EN ISO 6803 is particularly suited to assess the components' safety performance. The article describes test methods for impulse testing with and without flexing; it also presents in detail the corresponding test results. The latter are discussed, and hints in terms of quality improveme nt are given in conclusion.
