The syntheses, properties, and chemical shifts of the heterometal gold(I) c
omplexes FcNAu . P(C(6)H(4)C1-4)(3) (1), FcN'[Au . PPh3](2) (2), and Fc'[Au
. PPh3](2) (3) are reported. The electrochemical behaviour of complexes 1
and 3 is compared with that of the related platinum derivatives (FcN)(2)Pt
(4) and FcNPtCl . PPh3 (5). Cyclovoltammetric measurements confirm reversib
le one-electron transfers.
