Abstract
Bis(trimethylsilyl)chromate generated from chromic anhydride and hexamethyl disiloxane in dichloromethane was applied onto a montmorillonite K-10 surfa ce. This reagent proved to be suitable for oxidizing alcohols of various ty pes to the corresponding carbonyl compounds.
