Abstract
We propose a definition of droplets in the lattice-gas model that is based on a stability requirement. It leads to a percolation line in the supercrit ical region of the rho-T diagram. According to numerical simulations, the e xcitation energy remains nearly constant along this line. These observation s may be useful to understand the fragmentation of suddenly heated liquid d rops, atomic clusters and nuclei. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
