We investigate the critical properties of a mixed spin-1/2 sand spin-1 Isin
g model in a transverse random field. In this study, we use two approaches:
the pair approximation and the mean field renormalization group each combi
ned with the discretized path integral representation. It is found that bot
h methods predict quantitatively the same phase diagram. Critical exponents
