S. Sanyal et R. Nag, Quark masses in the extended Fock space approach from analysis of magneticmoments - art. no. 014027., PHYS REV D, 5901(1), 1999, pp. 4027
The effective masses of the quarks in an extended Fock space approach is ex
tracted from an analysis of the magnetic moment of the baryons. Careful att
ention is given to the L=1 term in the three-quark plus quark-antiquark sta
tes, inclusion of gluons is essential for reproducing the correct magnetic
moment ratio of the proton and neutron. The hyperspherical harmonics method
is employed to handle the five-body wave functions. The effective masses o
f the quarks in this approach are considerably smaller than those used in c
onventional quark models, but greater than those of the current quarks. Mor
eover, the contributions of the quark masses to the nucleon mass, obtained
in this work, agrees well with those of the experimental observations and t
hose of the chiral expansion model. [S0556-2821(98)04121-6].
