Two poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) materials with distinct vinyl acetate r
atios were studied by nuclear magnetic resonance using solution and solid t
echniques. These studies were made in order to obtain a relation between th
e structure-properties-mobility and this response can be utilised in order
to have precise information for new applications as well as better understa
nding of the material behaviour. The results showed that these polymers pre
sent characteristic mobilities as a function of vinyl acetate in the copoly
mer. Thus, as the quantity of vinyl acetate increases the dyads and tryads
distribution and the molecular mobility in the copolymer change, as a conse
quence of the different commercial applications. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science
