Visual unilateral neglect: (I) Assessment

Unilateral visual neglect is a neurological syndrome that is common after d amage to the parietal robe. In this article we describe some tests that hav e been frequently used to diagnose unilateral visual neglect in brain-damag e patients. Firstly, we discuss some conventional tests to assess explorati on skills of patients. Then we describe some functional tests thought to as sess the daily patient behaviour. Finally we present some tests initially d esigned to assess other pathologies, but that they have proved useful to di agnose unilateral visual neglect.
