Abstract
A simultaneous analysis of the reduced equations and of the Jones matrix fo r a solid-state ring laser is used to obtain an expression for the frequenc y of self-modulation oscillations in the case of arbitrary polarisations of counterpropagating waves and arbitrary coupling coefficients, in the prese nce of amplitude and frequency cavity nonreciprocities. It is shown how the chip-laser cavity geometry affects the dependence of the self-modulation f requency on the amplitude cavity nonreciprocity.
