K. Summerer et al., IDENTIFICATION AND DECAY SPECTROSCOPY OF SN-100 AT THE GSI PROJECTILEFRAGMENT SEPARATOR FRS, Nuclear physics. A, 616(1-2), 1997, pp. 341-345
We have identified the doubly-magic N = Z nucleus Sn-100 by using the
method of high-energy projectile fragmentation of a Xe-124 beam in con
nection with the fragment separator FRS at GSI. Despite a very low pro
duction cross section of only 11 +/- 4 pb, we report on first results
from the investigation of correlated beta-decays after the implantatio
n of a total of seven nuclei into a segmented stack of silicon detecto
rs. We will discuss future perspectives of a more precise determinatio
n of the GT-hindrance factor for the unique Sn-100 beta-decay using th
e same method.
