The reactions of terminal acylacetylenes with thiocarbohydrazones give 2-(2
-acyl-vinyl)thiocarbohydrazones or 2,2-bis(2-acylvinyl)thiocarbohydrazones
depending on the reagent ratio. Benzoylacetylene reacts with thiocarbohydra
zone of p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde to form S-[2-(p-dimethylaminobenzoyl)vi
nyl]isothiocarbodihydrazone.
