Vi. Passechnik et al., Experimental reconstruction of temperature distribution at a depth throughthermal acoustic radiation, ULTRASONICS, 37(1), 1999, pp. 63-66
The potential of passive thermoacoustic tomography is illustrated experimen
tally. The distribution of the thermodynamic temperature at a depth in a mo
del system is reconstructed from a set of measurements of the thermal noise
acoustic radiation which were conducted onto the body surface. The reconst
ructions were conducted by three mathematical methods, namely, (1) least sq
uares method; (2) Tikhonov's regularization method; (3) the method of elimi
nation of non-physical solutions. The reconstructed temperature distributio
ns are rather approximate to the actual distribution determined experimenta
