Results of parasitological examinations of fecal samples from horses, donkeys, dogs, cats and hedgehogs between 1993 and 1997

Results of coproscopical examinations in horses, dogs, cats and hedgehogs b etween 1993 and 1997 are presented. In 3,103 samples from horses 48.46 % st ages of strongylids, 1.66 % Parascaris equorum, 2.92 % anoplocephalids, 0.7 7 % Strongyloides westeri, 0.5 % Oxyuris equi, 0.35 % Eimeria leuckarti and 0.17 % Fasciola hepatica were found. In 55 samples of donkeys in 47 % stag es of strongylids and in 1.82 % of Dictyocaulus arnfieldi were found. In 3. 66 % of the 2 289 samples of dogs eggs from Toxocara canis, 2.42 % Giardia so., 2.14 % Isospora sp., 1.39 % taeniids, 1.21 % Ancylostomids and 0.95 % eggs from Trichuris vulpis, 0.17 % Hammondia heydorni, 0.19 % Sarcocystis s p., 0.24 % Dipylidium caninum, 0.47 % Mesocestoidessp., 0.23 % Toxascaris l eonina, 0.17 % Capillaria sp. and 0.24 % metastrongylids could be detected. In 6.42 % of 1,496 samples of cats stages of Toxocara cati, 2.25 % of Isos pora sp., 1.86 % of Giardia sp., 0.64 - 1.05 % of taeniids, 1.02 % of Toxas caris leonina, 0.63 % of Toxoplasma gondii, 0.34 % of Capillaria so., 0.32 % of ancylostomids, 0.21 % of Opistorchis felineus and 0.2 % of Aelurostron gylus abstrusus were found. In 208 samples of hedgehogs 43.69 % stages of C renosoma striatum, 42.33 % of Capillaria sp., 11.45 % of Isospora sp., 1.02 % of Brachylaemus erinacei and 2.03 % of other trematodes were detected.
