Immobilisation of thiabendazole specific antibodies on an agarose matrix for application in immunoaffinity chromatography

The covalent immobilisation of two monoclonal antibodies teach of which bin ds both thiabendazole and its metabolite, 5-hydroxythiabendazole) on an aga rose matrix is described. Immunoaffinity columns, made using these immunoso rbents, bound radiolabelled thiabendazole and a number of eluents, were eva luated, with ethanol-water (70%) being selected as the most suitable. Re-eq uilibration of the immunosorbent was possible by purging with water, result ing in a reusable column. The columns were found to be stable under the con ditions employed.
