The covalent immobilisation of two monoclonal antibodies teach of which bin
ds both thiabendazole and its metabolite, 5-hydroxythiabendazole) on an aga
rose matrix is described. Immunoaffinity columns, made using these immunoso
rbents, bound radiolabelled thiabendazole and a number of eluents, were eva
luated, with ethanol-water (70%) being selected as the most suitable. Re-eq
uilibration of the immunosorbent was possible by purging with water, result
ing in a reusable column. The columns were found to be stable under the con
ditions employed.
