Abstract
If the combined heat-and-power (CHP) unit's heat-output is increased, so as to supply all the heat required by the absorption chiller, then the emissi ons from the integrated small-scale CHP and absorption chiller system are r educed by up to 0.06 kg of CO2 per kWh(T) at design conditions or by up to 0.10 kg of CO2 emissions per kWh of cooling delivered for lower cooling-wat er temperatures. These correspond to reductions of 22% and 40% respectively , when compared with those produced by a similarly sized electrically-drive n vapour-compression chiller.
